For the first time in 2020 I competed In my first race competition at Donnington Park race circuit with Emax Motorsport.
It was an enjoyable and thrilling experience to drive a Citroen C1 round a well known race circuit in British racing. Throughout the day I was slowly improving on lap times and by the end of the day, I was the third fastest driver in the team.
Please find below a performance statement from the Team Principal Glen Flinn, who comments on my driving during the race weekend:
" August 22nd saw the first race of the year for the Citroen C1 endurance series and Emax motorsport entered four of its cars in the 3 hour race. Car 308 had a new driver Ceran Sokhi who was joining Citroen regulars Jon Proctor and Rob Kerr.
Qualifying lasted 50 minutes and Ceran’s first stint saw him fastest in the car allowing Jon to start higher up in the 50 car grid later that day.
The race started mid afternoon under a deluge of rain, conditions were atrocious and very tricky. Jon and Rob completed their one-hour stints and Ceran to complete the final hour of the race and bring it home.
Ceran’s lap times improved every lap with a new fastest lap being recorded for the car. There was much joy in the garage, a very creditable 1 minute 39 second lap time being his best. Bringing the car home straight and intact, Ceran gained a lot of valuable experience as well as being quickest driver in the car.
We are extremely pleased with Ceran, especially as this was his first race with no previous experience in our car. The experience gained in endurance racing and track time is so valuable as well as great fun. "
